The Horan Project

The Horan kitchen and utility project that was truly a labour of love. It took time and collaboration to get the design just right for our clients, carefully considering their needs and combining the couples individual personal styles.

The space is very large creating an open plan room to contain the kitchen, living area, dining and their daughters play area. It was important to consider how the kitchen would create a foundation to design the rest of the space.

They have achieved a beautiful inviting space for socialising with the large island being 1.5m deep by 3m long perfect for hosting guests.

This kitchen features smooth vinyl shaker style doors for a contemporary look. The light green mixed with a warmer toned quarts surface makes the kitchen feel inviting. Adding texture and dimension using reeded glass wall units, wood effect open shelving and brass hardware.

Feature Shelving

Feature shelves are an excellent way to bring warmth and character to your kitchen. By creating a designated space for personal items and decorative pieces, you can infuse your kitchen with a unique sense of personality, transforming it into a space you'll enjoy spending time in, not just for cooking, but for relaxation and inspiration as well.

Tall Corner Storage

The Horan’s wanted the tall units to follow along around the corner of the room. This required a corner unit however it could not be a diagonal or an L shaped due to the chimney breast. Therefore we made use lemans pull outs to make easy access storage.

Quooker & Waste Disposal

A key feature for the family is the Quooker tap. Being a social family they can now make tea and coffee in a flash, they opted for patinated brass which works beautifully with the antique brass knob and cup handles.

The waste disposal was a requirement for the Horan’s, wanting to avoid bad smells from food waste, the waste disposal takes care of this and also reduces their overall waste collection.

Chimney Breast

The chimney breast was a challenge that could not be removed so we worked with it, lining out the inside in worder to make it useable. The Horan’s have now made this their coffee cupboard and for storing bit and bobs so they are out of sight.

The Utility

In contrast to the kitchen, the utility room hosts a bold rusty red colour which works perfectly with the timber effect worktop.

Although the design remains simple in layout, it makes a beautiful statement as a stand alone space.
